Breeding for Quality Not Quantity

Me and my friend Kim from Sunny Brook Rabbitry decided to go in together and buy some satins from Sandra Peake a breeder in Keremeos. We ended up with 6, 2 buck, 4 does. A trio lives at my rabbitry and the other trio lives at Kims. We are both very excited to add this breed to our rabbitrys and  cant wait to see what they produce for us. Thanks again Sandra.

Well that trio got me started on expanding my herd, i loved the breed so much and they arent a very common breed. Thanks again to Caroline Sullivan for helping me get some new bloodlines into my herd.

Heres a little info on the Satin Breed:

The Satin Breed is a great breed to raise and show. The Satin breed is used commercially for fur and meat.

The Satin Breed gets it's name from the special fur that makes it's coat different from all other breeds. The Satin breed has translucent hair shafts that reflect light and give it's coat a unique shine.

The average adult weight for a Satin rabbit ranges from 8.5 to 12 lbs with the Bucks normally weighing in slightly less than the does.
